Jonas Marcel Kolecki is a visual artist and filmmaker. His work encompasses a conceptual approach, utilizing a wide range of mediums including painting, drawing, collage, performative installations, and moving image. At the core of his work lies the examination of imprints humanity leaves on landscapes, interwoven with the narrative they create in a broader historical context, exploring the impact of contemporary media on our identities and the human experience, often manifesting through site-specific actions. His work was shown at the Kunsthaus Dahlem Berlin; Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare in Bolzano and the Lothringer 13 Munich 2022 and is collected in private & institutional collections in Europe and directed independent films like "A long, long Way from California to Casablanca", portraying the urban skate & bmx culture of Morocco, was a cinematographer for "Anti-Flag - Power to the Peaceful" among others and is artistic director of the creative studio SophyLab
